Revised anti-money laundering Bill delayed

The proposed second period of consultation on the draft anti-money laundering reform package will now commence in mid-June according to the Minister for Justice and Customs, Senator Chris Ellison.

The first round of consultations has ended with the Government receiving more than 120 submissions. The Senate Legal and Constitutional Committee Inquiry into the Exposure Draft of the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Bill 2005 delivered its report (pdf) in April.
