As South-East Queensland deals with tightened water restrictions, the Productivity Commission has released a discussion draft report, Rural Water Use and the Environment: The Role of Market Mechanisms.
The report addresses reform to improve rural water use efficiency through water trade and allocation of rights and discusses water related environmental issues such as salinity and altered river flows.
