The risk of adverse publicity in litigation

In every commercial dispute there are always allegations and counter-allegations. And when a dispute is taken to court there is the possibility that the media will find it of interest.

But when Channel Nine took its contractual dispute with an employee to court and then settled, it had not planned on other media organisations publicising the details.

Media Watch has the story on the lengths Channel Nine went to keep the details secret but the NSW Supreme Court decision of Llewellyn v Nine Network went against it.
