Last year the former chair of Hewlett Packard and 4 others were charged with identity theft and wrongful use of computer data.
The Australian reports that all charges against Patricia Dunn, the former Hewlett-Packard chairman have been dismissed and that charges against her four other co-defendants were reduced to misdemeanours. Those charges will be dismissed after six months following the completion of community service.
Earlier this year a private contractor hired by HP's investigators to unearth the telephone numbers of HP board members, journalists and their families, pleaded guilty to federal charges of identity theft and conspiracy.
