Favourite Books

The whole family recently gathered around the TV for ABC's My Favourite Books in which Jennifer byrne unveiled the Top 10 of a viewer poll on the Top 100 favourite books.

The program was entertaining even if most of the results were predictable.

Still, I was motivated to read Tim Winton's Dirt Music (number 11 in the list) over the holidays and loved it.

But my book of the holidays (so far) is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time...simply  written but at times sad, funny and dramatic all at once.

The Ulimate Jukebox

Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time is a great coffee break discussion topic.

You can sort the list by year, rank, song title or artist  to get some interesting results.

For example only 3 songs since 2000 are in the list and 2 are by Eminem!

Blogs Update

Blog is word of the year for 2004 (by Merriam-Webster).

Corporate Engagement offers this round up in relation to corporate blogging including beSpacific's powerpoint on the topic.

I spoke to someone recently who thought blogs did not meet the "cosmetic" standards of websites! He is wrong (check out samples of the blogs designed by Kevin O'Keefe) and is missing out on an opportunity to talk to his customers.
